The piece "Three Binders for the Same Boy" consists of three hand-made chest compression binders made of leather, vinyl, and pink satin, as well as an accompanying video depicting the artist putting on and taking off each one. Each binder is meant to represent a gender presentation, while still referencing the social expectation of an ideal masculine body that lacks breasts. The leather binder corresponds to masculinity, the satin one to femininity, and the vinyl one to an absence of either of the two.
By opting to wear all three binders, M embodies for a spectrum of gender presentations, all the while maintaining a trans-masculine gender identity. In the end, it does not matter which binder they choose to present themself in. They are always the same boy.
